Borrego Desert Nature Center — 652 Palm Canyon Drive off Christmas Circle in Borrego Springs, California. (760) 767-3098. Open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through June 28.

Summer hours: The Nature Center will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during July and August, 2008. Mail and phone orders will be taken.
